ABOUT VOLLIE

Skilled volunteering doesn't fail because of people. It fails because of structure.

Skilled volunteering doesn’t fail because of bad volunteers or disengaged charities. It fails because the systems aren’t there.

Focus on remote- skilled volunteering

We kept seeing the same thing, charities with real needs, professionals with real skills, and projects didn’t have the impact they should have. The problem was never the people or motivation. It was the infrastructure around them.

Vollie was founded after watching skilled volunteering continue to struggle, for the same structural reasons.

No project ownership. No clear scope. No governance. No easy way to measure what was delivered. Enthusiastic volunteers and grateful charities, but nothing actually finished.

The sector didn't need another matching platform. It needed a system. So that's what Vollie became — a structured capacity-building service that installs the infrastructure organisations need to harness skilled, remote contribution in a way that's disciplined, measurable, and repeatable.

Vollie is proudly Australian, built specifically for the Australian charity and NFP sector, and designed to work for organisations of every size — from small community groups to multi-program NFPs managing dozens of projects each year.

WHAT DRIVES US

Our mission and vision

  • OUR MISSION

To install the structure that makes skilled volunteering work, for every Australian charity, NFP or social impact organisation that needs it.

Vollie works alongside charities and NFPs to build the operational systems, governance frameworks, and project infrastructure that allow skilled, remote volunteers to contribute meaningfully — with outcomes that can be measured, reported, and repeated.

  • OUR VISION

To create an opportunity for every charity, NFP and social impact organisation to have the systems and processes that can harness professional expertise, regardless of size or budget.

We believe the gap between willing professionals and under-resourced charities is not a supply problem. It's a structural one. Our vision is a sector where that structural gap is closed, where skilled contribution is the norm, not the exception.

OUR STORY

How Vollie went from observation to infrastructure.

Vollie didn't start as a business idea. It started as a frustration with watching the same pattern play out across the social impact sector. Willing volunteers, genuine need, and projects that quietly died because no one had built the scaffolding around them.

Vollie 2.0 is the result of taking that frustration seriously. Not as a technology problem to be solved with a platform, but as an operational problem to be solved with structure, process, and proper engagement design.

HOW WE WORK

The principles behind every engagement

Structure First.

We install systems before activating volunteers. Every time, no exceptions.

Honest.

We tell organisations what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. Including when Vollie isn’t the right fit.

Measurable.

If it can’t be documented, it didn’t happen. Every engagement ends with evidence you can use.

Built to last.

We build systems you own. Not dependent on Vollie. The goal is your independence, not your reliance.
